Gulf fishing.

I don't know much about Pencacola but my uncle ownes the Lazy River Gal located behind Captain Anderson Treasure ship (gift shop & restaurant) in Panama City Beach. www.lazyrivergal.com

If you are new to gulf fishing don't let anyone take you out if the seas are more than 4 or 5 feet unless your boat is more than 65 feet long. I am 42 years old and have no desire to spend the day being tossed back and forth.

I wish you good luck on your fishing trip and if you have ? send me an e-mail.

Tim

fishing

What type fishing? Snapper or Sail?

The Captain I use just sold his boat. I'll see if he has another yet.

Are you camping? If you haven't been here before, I can get you some info.

Tom

OK on the seas, thst's good to know.

WE've been to Pensacola several times, we love it there. We dont care what kind of fish but would prefer Red Snapper. We got a quote of $350 for a small (20') boat and 5 hour bottom / trolling trip. What do you think?

We will be in our trailer staying with friends.

Last time I went on a snapper boat (about 2 years ago) it was about 65/person. This was like a 65 ft boat. There is also a limit of snapper (I think 2 per/person) although no limit on Mingo snapper and the like. The way the weather has been lately, the gulf has been too rough for a 20' boat.

Feel free to pm me if you want. Maybe we can say hello when your here.

Tom

Tom, do you have any idea how could contact a company with one of those larger boats? I'm limited to internet info bcuz the phone book doesnt have any information and I have limited time to call at random.

Perhaps we could meet for lunch on Friday, I just completed installing a power steering cooler and need to show someone :D

I am in the phonebook right now trying to find you something. I'll let you know just as soon as I have something for you.

Is that Fri the 26th. ? Might work out

Tom

Even better

OK, I will make some calls today and let you know. It may be this evening.

Power steering cooler huh? Yes, I gotta see this. I don't have as many goodies as you so my wife will be mad at you cause she knows I have to catch up. LOL

Tom

My son is a Navy flight ins. and a guy in his squadron has a 24 footer that he fishes with. When I was down in June we went out I caught a 55# whahoo. I'll check and see if he'd be interested.

Jim

Excellent!! Thanks!!

Yes they need a power steering cooler. On page 19-31 of the 2001 service manual it says "Trailer tow option vehicles are equipped with a power steering oil cooler". Mine didnt have one so I called the dealer to inquire. They said that because of the hydro boost (brakes) plumbing DC doesnt install one on the CTD.

I feel they need one; the high pressure side will get warm after 1-2 minutes of idleing from a cold start. My other Dodge has 185,000 miles and has the original steering box and powersteering pump. I believe they have lasted this long because there is a REAL cooler (Factory installed) and I flush the fluid every year. I'll snap a picture and post it here so you can see it.

It is a 4 pass cooler off of Dakota. I cut the original mounts off and made new ones, it is mounted right below the radiator fan where it gets plenty of air flow. I drilled and tapped the front cross member which is where it is on gasser 2500's.

Good news is that it's cheap mod. Get the cooler from a salvage yard ( CLEAN IT!!! ), two "L" brackets from True Value, self tapping screws, 3' of 3/8" auto transmission cooler line, clamps. One new line to the return port on the steering box, the other OEM lne that came off the steering box will reach the cooler. Flush and refill. Done. Plus it's easy to do yearly flushes now :D
