perform maintance indicator

I have an 07. 5 with the 6. 7L. in the digital screen in the overhead counsol where the temp is displayed. it says perform maintance at startup. no check engine light. i put a code reader on it. nothing. i just changed oil hoping that would help it didnt. any clues on whats up with it and how to get rid of it?

Does the 7. 5 have to have the service minder reset?



Turn ignition to on (don't start), press accelerator to the floor three times within 10 seconds and turn ignition off. Then start the truck. If that was your oil change reminder, this procedure should clear it.

It does have that. but the oil change is a seperate message. maybe this will clear the other message though. i will try it.

How many miles on the truck? Could it be the ccv filter and egr cleaning service that needs to be performed around 67,500? I think there is a different procedure to clear that service reminder, I saw it mentioned in a thread on this forum somewhere. If I find it I'll post a link.

OK. The Overhead Perform Service Reset is:



Turn Key on but do not start

Press and release the brake twice

Press and release accelerator slowly, two times within 10 seconds

Turn Key off



I usually have to do my oil change twice for it to work so you may have to do the same with this procedure.



Probably the EGR service is required.

If you're over 67k miles, you need to replace the CCV filter, then reset the overhead.
