Over the last 3-4 months seems like it is just not as peppy as it was. Changed air/fuel filters, no difference..... Pop-in-law has the 2000 model and I'd swear it has a lot more pep from the get go, as well as pickup...

Mine is 2001,cummins,auto,has 55K on it. It shifts fine and everything else is good!!!

Any and all assistance, advice is greatly appreciated!

Tony ...

P. S. . Hi ya Frank, how's the fishin up your way??!!!!

Tony -

Check all your intercooler hoses... from the bottom of the turbo to the intake horn. If any of those hoses is loose it casues a slight loss of preformance. You should check them at every oil change as they have a tendancy to get loose. I know when my Dad checked his after 75K he was blown away by the increase in perfromace.

After that I would try unhooking the neg cables on both batts overnight and let the ECM forget every thing. Some say that helps a bit.

Good luck.

Do an APPS recallibration . It will help.

Disconect neg term. for at least 30 min.

Reconect

Turn key to on posistion (do not start)

Press accellerator to floor slowly and raise slowly

Turn key off.

Your ready to go.

MAp Sensor

Clean or replace the MAP sensor, i had to go bad a second time. This time it was intermeient and only went into Limp mode one time, dealer replaced the second last month at 35,700 miles, the first one went the day i purchase the truck.

May as well get the IAT sensor while your at it (clean it first, not replace)

Just had my 2001 in for "low performance" complaint and the lift pump was replaced(43000 mi). Haven't had time to check the performance level yet though!
