How much more performance,if any can you get from advancing your timing. Will you have problems with EGT or to much boost for the stock turbo, already pushing 36 PSI.

I was told that increasing the timing on my 95 would give me 10 or 15 hp. I have never dyno my truck as I can only tell you that the fuel economy was the biggest thing that I noticed. I went from 15. 5 to 19. 5 or so. How ever that would depend on what the base timing is. I have ran a lot of timing and backed the timing down to 17 or 17. 5 and did not see any difference in mileage. I don't have a big fuel plate, #6 slid all the way and stock injectors. I have never had a head gasket problem. I thought that timing was the best bang for the buck as far a mileage. lol JimOriginally posted by KHill
