All,

Had the 15k service done about 4k ago... . didnt replace the airfilter becasue they had replaced 5k earlier..... but my truck seems a tad off:

1. Seems to downshift more... . in lieu of using the low rpm torque

2. Seems slower (only about 10% off normal)???

I've run the **** out of it to ensure the injectors are nice and clean... .

Air Filter minder is still in the green zone approx 50% down... . could the filter be too dirty and causing the performance hit? Starts fine, no smoke, runs good otherwise? Any thoughts?

I don't know where you live, but it could be winter blend fuel that's causing your concerns. I had noticed mine was running a little quieter and not as strong. Last week I had to go down to Tampa and I fueled up at the Georgia border. About fifteen minutes later, I noticed that the truck seemed to be running stronger. The rest of the trip, the truck was back to its old self. Then I refueled here with the winter blend and now I'm back to the weaker version. The good news is: winter's almost over.

Since you are in SoCal, I would bet it's the air filter. I don't think they run winter blend fuel in SoCal but I could be wrong. Change the filter and see what you find afterwards. My filter gets dirty much faster in winter here than summer.

I buy my fuel at the same place all the time and for the past several months, it seems like the consistency is just not there. I talked to the distributor and was told that they just started winter blend here about three weeks ago. They do winter blend here because of the proximity to I-75. It's for the trucks headed north but everybody suffers as a result. We don't need it here, especially this winter.
