First time user who's wondering what kind of performance numbers I can expect with these upgrades to my Cummins. I have bone stock 1995 87,000 mi dually w/ auto. I am adding a 4" turbo back exhaust system, Cam plate (unsure of the number, though the garage did mention "death plate"-so I'm guess it is a good size number), K&N filter, 3000 gsk, check the valves, etc. All my experiance is with gas perfomance. This is my first diesel and its also my work. Also what kind of mileage gain can I expect. As of now it gets 10 mpg, 11 on its best day. Great site, I have already learned so much by just browsing. One last thing the transmission is being updated also. Thank you.

Even with a #0 plate I doubt you'd top 300hp, probably around 250-275 I would guess.

Ditch the K&N, their no good in a CTD.

CTD=Cummins Turbo Diesel

My 95 w/#10 plate, 3k springs, stock injectors,turbo and dv's, and a DTT auto had 245 hp on a mustang dyno.

Your stock transmission won't let you go must further before the TC starts slipping.

Go with timing as well while they're at it. I would also go with a 4k GSK. Don't worry, it won't rev that high. Garmon really woke mine up. He did 4k GSK, timing, and removed the plate. He also advised using K&N filters, so that's what I've always used in my diesels. The trans didn't like these upgrades at all. . It felt like a completely different truck. My 95 dually always got very good mileage. Around town, it would normally get over 17mpg. Highway mileage was just over 20.

With Dual EE's setup (4k springs) with the 5 speed I did 290hp 740tq. I won't use K&N either. Of course if Garman's say to use them they can't be that bad?
