When turbo mfgr. says turbo is for motors approx 430HP to 480 H. P is this rear wheel H. P. or Flywheel H. P. ratings?

And what about us people with power boxes, when I drive around town I dont run around at 400 H. P. I turn box down and probably unloaded driveing approx 330 H. P. but when towing I want all of it and at that point I probably am in the 375 to 450 H. P. rating depending on where you measure, flywheel or rear wheel?

I want turbo for towing to help EGTs when box is dialed up in settings but will there be an adverse effect when box is turned down for around town unloaded driveing?

Usually the Diesel aftermarket uses RWHP #'s.

Its harder now to make a turbo to support what your asking it to do (high flow rate with fast spoolup) because with the more electronics on these motors the more they are fuel dependent from turbo boost, (no boost no high end fueling) I guess the best single charger to date would have to be one of the HTB2's for the spoolup reasons and still maintain good flow.

Biggest difference when you go to the bigger turbo vis-a-vis 'driving around town' drivability is the turbo lag (spoolup) will be more pronounced with the bigger turbo. Mfgs are working on some good compromises you'll read about on here. Otherwise no problem.
