I just recently received my first issue of TDR, I can't believe all of the performance upgrades you can do to the Dodge Diesel. I own a 2001 Ram 2500 4WD Ext. Cab with 24 Valve Cummins Diesel. I have the 4Spd Automatic,47RE. I work in the marine business and I'm always pulling boats around, big and small. I also occasionaly snow plow when it decides to snow in northwest Ohio, which isn't very much.

I'm looking to do some performance upgrades to my truck and bring the horsepower up over 400 if possible without shortening the life of my truck. I'm hoping somebody can steer me in the right direction, so I don't get disappointed by finding out the hard way.

Thanks for the input Eric

400 ponys----You better look into having some trany work done, if not very soon as you bring the ponys up

Ask and you shall recieve... .

Buy all of the following and then invite some TDR members over to help with the install.

Boost/EGT and Fuel Pressure Gauges

Edge Comp

DD 3 injectors

4 inch exhaust

DTT Torque Converter and Valve Body

Either a pusher pump or move your lift pump to the rear of the truck and get rid of the banjo bolts.

Big turbo of some kind, I think Kurts B1 Bomber and Piers HX40 are the most popular right now.

Buy an aftermarkek air system of some kind, BHAF or KN RE0880 or a Scotty Air system

The above mods will cost in the neighboorhood of 5-6 K, but you will have 400+ HP and lots of :D :D :D

Then you can start on the nice stuff like new shocks, traction bars, driving lights, red valve covers, nerf bars... . the list goes on.

Happy BOMBing.....

Oh yea. . repeat after me... I am my own warranty station.
