Whos using Amsoil 10w30 diesel oil in their rigs

Peak Oil Theory

I'm working on a 312C excavator with a 3064t. Anybody know anything about this engine? Is it a perkins engine? I'm going to need a crankshaft. Any idea where to find one cheap?

Try Firefox. It's pretty much all I use if I can.

It is actually a Cat yellow MITSUBISHI!

What do you need to know?

Dont know where to get parts other than a Cat dealer.

So the 3054 is a Perkins, but the 3064 is a Mitsubishi right?

The engine has a big hole in the side where a rod came out. It will still run. We tried to bump it over to see if it was locked up and it cranked immediately. I have found all the parts I need to fix it except for a crank. THe crank may be usable, but I doubt it. I'm pulling the engine out tonight and will tear it down tomorrow. I really wish I had a good used crank then I could have it back together this weekend, but it's a little late now. I would just like to find one for less than $1500.

You can get a reman for like 1350, depends on how good your core is. The remans are UTN which means upgrade to new. They do that so they can build up a core base. Core charge of 530. I just guessed at the serial number, but the prices should be close.

Thanks BigYellowIron for letting me know about the UTN part. We're getting the crank for $500 less that we were going to pay thanks to you. It was $1800, but when I told the parts guy about the UTN and I gave him the part number for the reman crank he backed up.

He wasn't happy about it.

I wonder why there are no remans available? This engine has been around for a while.
