Mike,

Uh I guess you're on the mend from something, don't print details you don't want the world to know.

Get back to driving soon.

Fell out of the big delivery truck during the last big snowstorm in March. Dislocated Left Shoulder and trashed the rotator as well.

Had the corrective surgery last Weds, now in a sling and sleeping in a recliner for several weeks. It has been promised that I am cleared for the Columbus event as long as I have another driver with me if needed. But I must behave and do as I'm told... ... .

Mike,

I know your frustration. About 23 years ago, I had glaucoma surgery on both eyes. As a result of the surgery I was temporarily nearly blind and what little I could see was very blurry. In addition, I was color for blind for about four weeks. Everything had a yellow tint and couldn't distinguish colors, especially traffic lights. I was receiving injections in my eyes every other day and my wife was driving me to Dallas for the treatment. I couldn't go to work, drive, write, read, and was unable to watch TV even if I wanted to. After about a week, I could see well enough to dial the telephone and correspond with my office to arrange trucks I had sold being rigged out and being delivered in my absence and could talk with my customers when they called. That was one of the longest two week periods in my life!

This is pretty minor compared to that. Typing with one hand and no driving pales in comparison to eyesight issues.

It is a humbling experience to become dependant on one's spouse for everything from opening a damn jar to daily personal hygiene. Gonna' owe her big time.

I'll quit *****in' about the mini-van... ...

This is new.......

A disturbing new trend is emerging... .

Just caught myself rooting for a newlywed on "The Price Is Right" to "win the car!!!"... ..... it's gonna' be a looooong month. .

Mike.

Hope you get on the mend quickly, Mike. It is no fun bieng laid up for any reason, especially when the warm weather is calling. We just got back from a 4wheeling trip in West Virginia, one of the guys I went with tried climbing a hill he shouldnt have and took a nasty spill and busted his foot up in a bad way. Hes lookin at 6 weeks maybe longer depending on how it heals. I feel partly resonsible because I had climbed it earlier and didnt think it was too bad. Later on when we came back by it he decided to give it a shot. Live and learn I guess.
Whatever you do, dont let day time t. v. corrupt you!

Mike,

Did your fall get on video and YouTube? If not, must not have been a doozey:-laf

Pretty soon you'll get hooked on your "story" and Dr. Phil reruns and such.

Take care Mike.

Gary

I can relate to your situation, being on the injured list at home when you're feeling good is tough. Very hard to follow the docs orders

Hang tough Mike it will be over before you know it. You can watch a lot of the history channel and Nat GEO plus the science channel better then Doctor Phil. Unless the DW says other wise.

When I had my double by-pass back in 01, it took me several weeks before I could sleep in the bed again. Spent every night in my recliner most time I ever spent in it. After six months I was cleared to lift weights and drive again almost went nuts. My dear wife even picked out our first truck an 01 Chevy ¾ ton gasser, all I could do was sit in the passenger seat when we bought the truck.

I was laid up in January and I couldn't wait to go back to work by the time it was over. Hang in there, you'll be back before you know it.

Just DONT EVER FORGET WHAT SHE'S DOING FOR YA!!!!!! Pard. Hopefully NOT!! but she may need your help some time. When Penny broke her ankle, I BUSTED MY A** To pay her back for the 9 times she has been there for me on my surgeries, im still in her debt ;)

Mike just found your report of the injury. Time to suck it up and ride in the van, UNDER A BLANKET, in the back seat, to the DRs. office. Get well and on your feet.

Nice, I hadn't thought of getting out of sight.

The DW will be more than willing to stuff a diesel soaked rag in my mouth and cover me over with a Ford blanket just to get even... . ;)

Oh gotta' go, a skin care special on Dr Oz just came on. Maybe I'll get a how-to on a face peel..... Oo.

Mike. :)
