I'm looking to purchase a Phat Shaft 62/14. What is the useable horsepower range for this turbo. I'm not talking about dyno numbers. I'm looking for foot to the floor flat out to the speed limiter H. P. I'm looking to run 500 H. P. to the wheels and still be able to tow at a lower box setting. Trailer weighs 8500lbs. Should I look at the 64/12 instead? I'm not worried about max H. P. as much as being able to stay in it more than 15 seconds and the having to let off because of skyrocketing exhaust temps. Thanks for any insight.

I don't know what dyno numbers I've got. . The 62 seems to be a nice power adder. The boost seems to come on a little sooner than the stock, and makes driving in traffic a little nicer. .

I wanted 500 rwhp. With my TST, BDDL, and FASS, Industrial Injection recommended the SPS 66. I don't tow much, though. I think the 62 would do just fine. If I don't like my 66, I'll swap it out for a 62.

AEzzo - I think that you will find the II PS 62/14 to be a very versitile and capable turbocharger. It moves significantly more air than the stock charger, and still spools quite quickly. It will support (non-sustained) 500 hp at the rear wheels and has done a good job keeping my truck cool at the lower box settings.

I recently had a bobcat in tow, 200 miles, over some significant grades, (with the Hot Juice on 1 (40hp), the EZ on 1) and never exceeded 1300 egt. Never had to back out of it.

Don't get me wrong, the 64 and 66 turbo's will do a better job with top end cooling, but my experience with the II PS62 has been all positive - Little lag, no barking, no code issues, and excellent performance. And like Morse said, daily/city driving is a treat.

Phat Shaft 62/14

I just bought the Phat Shaft 62/14 with 4" down pipe. I need a few bucks more and then I will order the rest of the exhaust system. Industrial Injection answered all of my questions and they were great to deal with. Now what exhaust to get? I was looking at the MBRP system. I have their system on my 2001 Yamaha Raptor and it has held up very well and sounds good.
