Balboa Toy Haulers?

We are heading up to the Phoenix area next week (March 6th) and I would like to hear from anyone who has RVed there as to a decent RC park. There are so many that a search on the net is frustrating. Also are there any truck places there that I could buy a steering box stabilizer while I am there.

Is the steering box stabilizer for the 2012? If so I am surprised anyone would feel they need one on a new 3500. My truck and rv are nearly the same and mine handles great towing or solo. You don't say if your truck is 2 or 4wd.

We spent a few days in the KOA in Apache Junction (East of Phoenix). Nice and clean, typical KOA prices (don't recall exactly). Spent one day driving the Apache Trail around the Superstition Mountains. If you do this DON'T pull your 5th wheel, I don't even recommend driving it solo with your LB CrewCab Dually (we left a little paint up there). Steep, narrow, one lane (no room for 2 vehicles to get by in places:eek:), switchbacks, rocks, sticks and shrubbery that will scratch your paint, etc. Beautiful drive and I'm glad I went but it's more suited for a jeep than a big ol' camper hauler like we drive. :) Have fun and enjoy the sunshine! It's nice to go somewhere they don't even sell snow shovels. :-laf

I probably don't need the stabilizer but after having them on my previous trucks I want one on this truck more as a preventive measure. I feel that the support on the end of the sector shaft relieves a lot of stress on the steering box.

Slow Six,

I can't be too much help to you even though I live in Phoenix. I don't have a need to camp here. However, the entire Phoenix valley is loaded with RV Parks. The greatest number of them is in the south east valley, namely Apache junction/Mesa. There are a lot of RV related businesses in that area, also. You will find more likeminded people in that area.

The Phoenix valley is a large area with around 3. 5 million people. If you would prefer a smaller, more rural area for your stay in AZ. , you might consider Casa Grande, AZ. which is located on I-10 about half way between Phoenix & Tucson. It's about an hours drive to either city from Casa Grande. Lots of RV Parks there, also.

Thank you for choosing Arizona as your destination. Glad to have you here. There's enough sunshine & warmth here for all of us.

If you are interested in diesel related activities, there is going to be a big diesel drag race on the west side of the valley on Saturday, 3/10/12. It's a fun event that draws racers from all over the country, including Canada. This will be a national event.

Slow Six: After having lived in the Phoenix area for nearly 40 years, (although not curently) you will find an abundance of truck supply houses. They are everywhere. Shop til you drop applies very well.
