evidently a pherd hit 597hp on the dyno at Vegas surpassing a Cummins-haven't heard what the Cummins did and don't know if the dyno-ing is still going on so we'll have to wait & see if one of our brethern can put us back on top---please... ..... chris

It would probably stay together for about a minute at that HP level. Owner probably had spent small forture to get there. No doubt he had a 100hp+ propane system.

Like Cowboy said, the Cummins will do the same at 1/4 of the cost of aftermaket upgrades, on #2 Diesel only with 2 less cylinders & 85 c. i. disadvantage.

I'm not impressed.

If it is true, (which I doubt it) What took 'em so long?

Are you sure that wasn't the torque number? #ad

GUys:
It was Richard. . {maddog} i have seen the truck in action personally, he's a hellova nice fella be nice, and that's cool because he hit like 515hp last vegas trip in march or whenever we all went... that thing can eat one of us, tread lightly... LOL

That truck is very impressive to watch on the dyno, just like Joe's and Bully Dog's were. Maddog had a heck of a time getting all that power to the ground at the drag strip. He couldn't keep traction, even in 4 wheel drive. His times were in the 15. 2s and 95 mph. Overall, the Fords skunked us at the strip as not one CTD showed up which was over 360 hp. All the big horse power boys stayed away. The fastest Dodge was Lance Groft's work truck, a '94 auto without a "posi". It turned 15. 83 at 90 mph and was only faster than a couple of the Fords. Traction was a big problem for eveyone there.

It seems to me that the West Coast big dogs are always on the porch.

If anyone cares to see the national Horsepower Kings, IN ACTION, I might add, travel to Muncie, Indiana June 9.
Sled pulls, dyno runs, dragstrip.
There will be a LOT of grudge matches between 600+ horsepower trucks. This has been brewing for the last several years.

I don't get on the porch, let alone stay on it. But its not financially fesable for me to go all the way to muncey.

I was there and we had trailored the "Rocket" down for the specific purpose if racing at the strip. Unfortunately the repair work that was scheduled for my transmission did not occur. I guess you could say we got a DNF #ad

You didn't get a DNF. You just let their little pride live a little longer. #ad

Hemi Dart,
On thing you got to remember is that most of the dodge boys that run in the hp range are doing it with a bunch of cc's running through there injuctors Joe for example is running about 600 cc's to make 600 plus hp,
Then there is the cost to upgrade the P pump,
etc.
yes it might be costly for both the Dodge boys and PSDer but at the same time we are all having fun.
Remember that MadDog ran a 603hp on sat and yes it was with NOS but then we are not running 600 cc's of fuel through our injuctors only 160 cc's
Dont worry PSD will be back on top again and soon there are two of us out there that are in the high 400's now and if we put the split fire spark plugs in we will be over 600 and our heads will still be intact along with the rest of our trucks!!!!!
O yea I forgot, 641 by Bully Dog was inpressive and I'm sure that Nowel would have done the same if not better but the PSD'd wern't trailered there either #ad

In response to Psychostroker's comment, I would like to say that currently the best figures recorded at Silverstate were recorded by my truck back in March at which time I drove it to and from vegas, same as you (no trailor). I expect to trailor it from here on due to the need to save the auto transmission.

Other then that, why are you so defensive Bryan? This topic is to honor the fact that the PSD's are doing so well. Some of the posts are jabbing at you, but this is a Dodge site after all. Some of the other posts are (us)recognizing MADDOG as I do for being in the forefront and taking the PSD to new heights. CC's, trailors???
