Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) pias turbo

i have the opp to buy a pias usd or b ? turbo used for 1200. 00 with downpipe is this a good deal?never heard orf this brand . can anyone tell me about these ?what does the usd or b stand for? it has a 12cm housing on it. thanks

Sounds like a PIUS USB Turbo. I love mine, and would highly recommend it. He has an ASB turbo also I believe. If I am not mistaken, the USB is wastegated, the ASB is not.

My buddy Luke has one on his '97 and it has it's issues. It barks and huffs and surges 1000 times worse than my B1 or Denis' B1 and we don't have a clue why! It runs good though, once it spools and if it's not in the wrong area of it's map for where you're trying to drive, which is where it seems to be ALL THE TIME!



JMHO though, maybe Luke will chime in and tell more.
