A while back, someone had posted on here with pics of a patriot blue QC 4X4 with the 17X9 Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels on it. I have some questions for that person, but I cant seem to find that thread and can't remember who it was. Anyone remember? Here is a pic...

I found the post for you, and posted to bring it back here. It is titled 03 larger tires. . The truck you are looking for is Duck's I believe it was on page 2 or 3

lawdog, thanks for the help. I guess I don't need to ask any questions now. That post answered them all.

Can't Wait

to put a set of Weld Cheyenne 8's with the 315/70/17 BFG's on mine! No the paint isn't spotted it was snowing when I took the picture.

It's a very strange feeling to open up a thread on the TDR, see your truck right away, and know you didn't post it!

How's this one?

Duck, that is one sweet truck. I went from an '01 2500 QC that had a set of 16X8 American Racing polished Atlas and 285/75R16 Bridgestone Dueler A/T's, and I loved the looks of that truck. The new one is so ho-hum with the stock wheels/tires. I can't wait to get a set of aftermarket's on it. I am torn between the M/T Classic II's and the American Racing Atlas' again. I like the Classic II's because they are something different that you don't see everyday. It seems like everyone has AR wheels on their trucks. Unfortunately, I called a local dealer today about ordering the M/T's, and he told me they are on national backorder. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Do you think I will have a problem fitting 285/70R17 BFG A/T's on with the 17x9's without having to lift the front like you did?

P. S. : Duck, does your truck have the snow plow prep pkg? Just curious.

Duck and jdh63... Duck. . that truck is too cool, More pics Please...

jdh63. . You are driving my future truck. . I just have not deecided between SLt or SPort. . The chrome just looks good on black. . I have to match the toy trailer... :D

Trailer

Lawdog,

You've got my trailer! I am getting and 8-1/2' x 28' enclosed car hauler to haul my dirt bikes. I am going to put a 16' living quarters up front and leave 12' for the bikes. That way I have a decent place to stay when I go to the races. Of course it will be black and aluminum like yours.

jcarver, That's a close call on the 285's, I haven't heard of anyone doing that yet. It's the width of the x9's that kills ya, the height was never a issue as evidenced by people that run the 315/70's on stock wheels with no lift. If i had to put money on it, I'd say you'll need the lift. That's the cheapest part of the whole deal though, it's like $200 for the spacers, another $50-ish for the shocks, and you're good to go. No snow prep kit on mine.

lawdog, The original post that had my pics is the extent of my picture taking from the outside. I'm running 3. 73 gears. I don't pull anything real heavy yet, so haven't regretted the lower gears + tall tires combo yet. It pulls an 18' open quad trailer, packed to the gills with quads, gear and kids, up any 7% hill at 80+.

Sweet trailer. I was also kicking around the idea of getting an enclosed trailer and converting the front of it for camping. Seems like it would be cheaper than buying a toy hauler, at least in the short term.

Toy Box

Duck,

I looked at the toy boxes and was not impressed with the construction quality. A lot of dollars for some things I don't need. I want AC, a head, shower and a sink. Don't need anything else. I think the steel frame of a car hauler will last longer taking it to the places off road I go to trail ride and race.

The trailer is marginal for using it as a race trailer, but it works for now. It is long 29'10" overall, but the box is 7' wide and 22' long with a 6' V-nose. It fits 4 sleds staggered. loaded from the front. We have it insulated and lights and a propane heater to keep warm. . I like how some of the race teams are now using like 48' 5th wheels or goosenecks, then getting the small living quarters in front. . Water is tough though to keep from freezing. I am having a hard time justifying $30,000. 00 for a trailer to pull in the salt. . Besides, I have about $7,500. 00 in mine, and for 22,000. 00, that will buy a lot of nice warm hotels with hot tubs... . and easier to pull and store... it is all aluminum. . about 13,800-14,000 lbs loaded truck and trailer... ...

2" leveling kit and shocks

Duck,

Very sweet truck. Mine is on order and I plan on going with 315/70R17 BGF's on 17X9's and will need the 2" leveling kit also. Did you get the leveling kit and shocks online or at a brick and mortar store. If you got them online do you have the site. Also do you have the part numbers. Any help would be great. Thanks

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On order - 2003, 3500, 4X4, HO, 6 Speed, SRW, White, Sport, Laramie, Taupe int.

I threw the box away, so I don't have the part number anymore. I want to say that it was for a 94-99 2500-3500.

I'm positive I've put the part number out here on this forum somewhere. A search for "Daystar" and "Duck" should get it for you easily enough.
