I lost about 1. 5 mpg while towing 10k 5er but I gained between 4-5 mpg on average tank of fuel with normal driving

I am now at 1500rpm at 55mph and 1750rpm at 65mph

Suggestion, you might want to Dyno the truck and find out where your peak TQ to RPM is now. That might help you for towing, knowing where your peak TQ is developed which will help with econmey ;)

Were you able to recalibrate the speedometer for the new set up?

Your truck looks awesome. I had a few questions.

Give us the scoop. What is the model number Alcoa's? What tires did you get? Where did you purchase the rims/tires? How much is a set?

I have the same truck and was thinking of doing this. How is the ride compared to stock? Did it lift your truck much?

Yes, all I had to do is find out the revolutions per mile of the tires and the dealer plugged into my truck the new info and I was set

I am running the Yokohama 255R70-22. 5 and the rims are Kenworth style Alcoas, if you go to this web site www.chromewheel.com you can get all the info and see pics of just about every type of truck with 19. 5s / 22. 5s and 24. 5s in both dually and single rear wheel

And as for the ride the big wheels just roll over bumps smoother but at 70mph I get a shake so gonna rebalance all six and see whats up, although you dont want to air the tires up to the rated pressure, chomewheel.com says to run fronts between 40-60psi and rear duals between 35-45 and I towed at that pressure and tires did not even compress

Has anyone seen this size of wheel on a single rear wheel?Would it look right?

Look at the pics on www.chromewheel.com they show just about all configurations

You say you still tow a 5th wheel with that setup. Did it affect the handling of the truck/trailer combo? How much higher is your hitch height?

Try some Centrimatic wheel balancers. Not every big truck tire shop is setup to balance the wheels. The one we usually go to doesn't. :(

The tires raised my bed rail height by 2 to 3 inches and since my 5er is 30' actually measures 32' it is not level when towing like it was before (trailer is already spring over) but since length of trailer it is just slightly up in front when towing, hardly noticeable. Where my biggest towing issue is, is with the gearing, the3. 73 gears with a 36" tall tire now I have to hit 3000rpm before shifting so I dont drop rpm down to 1200 to 1500 rpm and loose tq but that problem was only when in the hills etc. on the freeway I now tow at 60-65 mph in 4th gear instead of 5th/overdrive and makes for nicer EGTs and pulling power
