Felt like I was borrowing my dad's truck. Very clean, quiet. The clutch is so soft. It's gonna take some getting used to a 6 spd. Definitely better visibility through out the truck. But mostly I expected more seat of the pants get up and go over my 12V with 208K miles.

My 12V feels like a hot rod compared to the new one. Maybe it is and I didn't realize it?

Of course the 3rd gen steering is much tighter, and the cab is roomier for the kids and over all it's just a beautiful truck and did I mention quiet? But, wow I am just really surprised my 12V has more power. I will be sad when the 12V sells. Can't keep both.

I don't know how much power a #11 plate adds but I am suprised to hear you think it is a dog! Are you sure you got the 325 hp 600 lb torque motor?

Are you thinking about a chip or programmer or anything?

FYI the engine mounted lift pump is a very weak link in the fuel system. Mine left me stranded on the side of the road with 54,000 miles on the clock. Oh, and did I mention the snowstorm?

Any othermods planned?

I love my 04. 5!

I didn't mean to make it sound like a dog, I guess I just expected to be blown away by the newer HO. Also, I haven't towed my Bobcat with it yet and that's what it's really for. No mods planned gonna keep her stock... ... ... ... ... maybe?

Is lift pump failure a common problem?

Guess there is always something to worry about?

Genos has stock lift pumps for $179. 00. Smarty or Juice WA will wake up the truck.

JNasty... ... I just went through the EXACT same thing! I bought an 05 yesterday and sold my 95, and I was surprised at how the 05 seems like it has less power than the 95 :-laf

Something else I never even considered possible... . HEAT! I actually felt hot air this morning after only 10 minutes. Wow simple pleasures.

The 04. 5 feels very anemic compared to a 12v. I have a 215 pump on my 95 and prefer it to the 600 CR in the 04. 5. Do youself a favor and buy a smarty for your truck. Marco has done wonders for the CR motors. Now my 04. 5 drives almost as good as the old 12V and gets almost the same MPG! The lift pumps are bad on the early CR motors. Mine died at 60k miles hauling the 5ver. Luckily it went to 0psi rolling into the driveway and let me get home, albeit the last 75 miles were rough! Glacier 392 pump has been good to me for the last 15k+ miles. Enjoy the new ride.

Any signs leading up to pump failure to look for? Does warranty cover this?

When the fuel pump died I just ran out of power. I would hit a 2% grade at 50MPH and top it at 30MPH on a rolling hill. It was like towing a load with 10% throttle. I had a fuel preasure gauge on the truck and it read normal PSI until a load was applied, then it would drop like a rock. The Glacier kit carries 19-21lbs at all times. Even with the trailer in tow accelerating I never dropped below 19PSI! I cant comment on the warrenty deal. I new that the pumps were junk and decided to go aftermarket versus the intank factory conversion. The prices were comperable.
