door sill plates: where to get good ones?

Here's a few pics of the truck with all the goodies installed. I took some pics that I wanted to see when I was looking into this setup that I could never find. Like the view down the side to see how far the tires stuck out.

I have the HD Diesel coils that gave me 2. 75" of lift in the front. I got 1" of lift in the back with the mini-packs. The truck sits about 4" higher than stock total with the 35" Toyo's.

I used Innovative Balancing Beads in the tires and I'm impressed with how well they work. I think I need another 2 oz. in one of my tires, but other than that, they ride great.

I used the McGard Tough Nuts installation kit. Thankfully, it came with longer valve stems which I ended up using because the Weld wheels came with short valve stems. I broke the filtered end off one of the filtered valve cores that came with the balance beads when I tried to install it in the short stem. I changed the short ones out for the long ones that came with the kit.

Pics don't do justice to the wheels. They are NICE. The tires aren't as loud as I expected with how aggressive the tread is. It's a nice drone that is not at all objectionable. I don't have to turn up the radio or anything, and the wife doesn't mind it at all.

I can't fit it in the garage anymore, which means it's time to move! :-laf

What size wheels did you get? My Cheyenne 17 x 10s with 4. 5 backspacing stick out a little more than I'd like. Your's look good.

The finished product looks great!! I wish I could have gotten all that stuff for the same amount you paid. :-laf :-laf J/K. . That is one GREAT looking truck. :D

Sweet rig.

Just one thing...

Make sure you rotate those tires every 5k miles or less. The tires are impressively quiet, but they gain volume if you don't pay attention. First couple of times I rotated at 3k miles and they were quiet. Last time I went 6k and they're loud. I cross-rotated the fronts each time, but my tires have a couple thousand miles to go before they settle down again.

I had my tires balanced on a Hunter road-force variation machine, and the truck is smooth as glass.

One more thing--

These tires kick up a lot of gravel. My lower paint has tons of chips. Not a big deal, as I bought the truck to use it, not look at it.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.

Coolslice,

I couldn't have gotten the deal I did without your misfortune. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Have you found some tires to try yet?

JCleary,

Thanks for the tip on rotation. These tires can hold on to some BIG rocks. I've heard some really loud thumps into the underside of the truck after driving on rocks. I'm going to Permatex the rocker panels with matching red eventually. That will hide the chips I have now and protect against future damage.

Come on Spooled -up get the XENON'S on that truck now, sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

Check my rig's gallery to see what they look like.

Nope. I have given up on the tires for a while. Those wheels are just collecting dust out in the garage. I'm debating on whether or not I should sell them. :( On a brighter note, I'm loving the stock truck!! Except for when I see pictures of trucks like yours. :D If only I had gone with the 4. 10's and a 6 spd. It sounds like you got everything squared away on yours, it looks great.

Brian the stock backspace is 6. 0" on the 8" rim, the KORE Cheyenne wheels have 6. 5" backspace. KORE is basically the only place you can get aftermarket wheels that don't stick out.

Bellyscraper,

Those Xenon's look nice. Ask Coolslice about fender flares though. Have they done anything to your paint?

If I'm not mistaken, the Xenon's are the way to go. I "think" they have a flat area that attaches to your truck with 2 sided tape. While that may not be good for the paint, it does keep them anchored to the truck around the outter edges whereas the Bushcrappers just pull up against the paint and are free to rub off all the precious paint they can. Whatever you do, stay away from the Bushcrappers.

But TICKET-ME-RED??? Glad you took the plunge. I have the short bed, and could still fit in the garage... so I added a light bar with 4 Hella 4000s off the front tow hooks. :D Hope you have better luck with the balancing beads than I did. Eventually took them out, and went conventional. No difference, still a great tire/wheel combo. No dings to the paint from rock toss.

I tried the beads in my 35's on my tj wrangler and as stated no help.
