Pics of trucks with 285's

Does anyone have pics of their trucks with 285's instead of the 315's... I am considering changing... but need to see how looks.

Ok... . what's your reason for changing? Sounds like you're regressing on us . I had 285's on my 95 and they worked out great. I would have put 315's on it, but they would not fit on the skinny stock rims.

Just concerned with the wiggle in the tires with the trailer. I am going to try this weekend to go for a longer x-way ride to feel more. I tow mainly in the winter and do not like suprises... I also do not like losing speed on hills and kicking out of overdrive ... Whining... Well yes, but my 2000 did good with the stockers, BUT the 3. 73 is just too high for the speeds and RPM's I want to run, so I am checking variable's..... I have to tow the trailer again first before I decide.

I did play with some math and came up with about a 3. 41 axle ratio with the 315's compared to stock 3. 73 with the 265's. With 285's it would equal a 3. 60 ratio... .

I've got the 4:10's and it's a little too much gear in most situations even towing 10-12K regularly. I looked into a tire swap, but the BFG A/T's were $200. 00 a piece X6 = $1,200. 00.



My friend will do the gear swap for $800. 00 out the door ... ... . and they won't wear out in 40K miles
