I'm finally ready to bomb the stereo, but I'm wondering if anyone has a picture of a regular DIN type CD player installed with one of those adapter plate things... I prefer the DIN type because there is a lot more selection than the Chysler specific 1. 5 DIN cd players. Thanks for your help!

JLinder,

I did quite a bit of searching for a DIN with a decent adapter plate before finally deciding on a Kenwood CD/Cassette/Stereo DIN and Half unit. Never found a good looking adapter setup. Had mine installed at Circuit City... very pleased with the system.

Sometimes you can find some one-off stuff in the Crutchfield catalog. Maybe worth a look.

Just my . 02 worth...

Here is what I did, that adapter plate is for a CD player and equalizer and the blank equalizer plate made for a good switch mount.

The adapter plates look horrible in most GM products, but in a Ram they don't look too bad. I have a 1. 5 DIN Pioneer in my truck, and they next CD player I buy will likely be a DIN, because of selection and cost advantages.

My $. 02,

Deezul 1,

Know this is off topic, but where the drink holder used to be I see you have a plate installed with your CB. How did you mount up that plate? Just curious looking at doing the same thing, but with gauges in the hole. Thanx

The plate I used in the hole I made from plexiglass and mounts with the original screws, Iused a piece of cardboard and traced a template from the drink holder and used that for a pattern for the plate. Good luck mounting gauges there, I have seen it done but couldnt make them fit without cutting the dash.

araiha,

If someone can tell me how to reduce the file size I can post a picture of mine which is what you want.

vc,

You will need some kind of photo editor to reduce the size. If you don't have one, you can send the pic to me and I can reduce it for you.

Deezul 1,

your right about cutting into dash a little. I did it such that I can still put my cup holder back in if I ever get rid of the truck and I want to kkep my gauges. Also I angled the gauges to make them fit more centered plus I can see them without leaning over from the drivers seat.
