*I* coulda SWORN that the *49* Mercs were the first of the new body style that was represented in the James Dean chopped merc - and are STILL extremely popular. I *thought* that body style ran from '49 thru '52, and that those like YOURS were the 41-48 body style...
Gary... I didn't even notice the typo in subject line. It should have read '46 merc. My mistake. The body styles were the same 1946 through 1948 and the "James Dean" style were 1949 through 1951.
Just talked to Arlan today and the wheel is minor compaired to the fire he had today, in the Merc. All is well, sorta, burnt carpet and paint. I will leave the details for Arlan to fill in.
