I've been searching the forums for Air Filter improvements. I'm looking for a picture of Scotty's III Ram Air system (installed). I couldn't find one of it installed on the '03 Ram. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

bill,

I have one sitting in my garage, I have a call into Rod @ Wildcat Diesel, and should talk to him Monday 8-11-03. Either I am doing something wrong, VERY likely and possible. Or there is no mounting attachments and it justs kind of rests on top of everything

If I am doing something wrong or am missing parts, I'll take a picture and send it to you.

Bill, drop scott1 a PM, he might have some pictures :)

So when are you coming to Pasco again and show me your new ride?? The Rickson's look great in your album and so does the SnugTop

Smartineau... I was told when I ordered mine that they are working on a bracket for the Scotty 111's, but I've had mine on for 6 months, and it's snug enough, no problems. I'll try to post a couple of pics after the weekend, I'm really happy with mine!!

Steve,

Like Michael said, Wildcat is trying to come up with a bracket. That's what happens sometimes when you get "one of the first" of anything. In the mean time the front of the Scotty III rests on the intercooler pipe and doesn't move around. I check mine occasionally and everything seems to be OK. I am not concerned at the moment.

Maybe Rod or Scott will reply and give us all an update on the avalability of the bracket.

Brackets

I have not got a 3rd gen truck here, Rod has it and he is in the middle of some of his agrictultural stuff this time of year. I have a new Ram coming so if I don't get Rods truck beforehand, I will get a bracket done. However, the way it sits right now works well... we just want to make it a bit more secure.

I think I attached a pic on another thread but will here too.

Everyone will get the bracket when its done. Not gonna slap one together so bear with us. :)

I tried to rename the pic but it did not let me upload... so try the thread titled...

"Intake Fitup"

I can't even post a link to that thread... my location bar only shows www.turbodieselregistry.com

This is the only site that does that for me. Anyone know why?

Thanks for the reply. As I said, mine isn't a problem as it is. Since getting a 3G truck I have learned to be patient, I know everyone out there is scrambling to get new products to market. Aint capatilsm wonderful!:D

Keep up the good work,

Scotty's III

Scotty1,

Thanks for the subject line of old post. Picture of intake installed was helpful.

jjdiesel,

I am not noticing a difference in ride with the Ricksons and Goodyears. I expected the ride to be a firmer and am surprised that it's not. I am running about the same air pressure empty as I was with the stock Chrome rims and Firestone tires. I suspect the ride will get firmer when I air them up. They are not driving noticeable different either. This may be because they are not substantially different in width? They seem to track down the road about the same. I do have a small vibration in my steering wheel now but it's very minor. I'm going to see today if Les Schwab can do anything to improve it.

Vaughn,

We don't have plans to head to Pasco at the moment. I'm sure we'll be going there before too long. I'll let you know when we do. By then, maybe I'll have the truck set up the way I like it. It's taking more time and $$ than expected.

With all the Liquid Sunshine we have been having here in NC and on the east coast in general, any thoughts on an open element filter and rain? I've ordered my Ram Air III, just awaiting delivery. Waiting to use shades again.

I haven't had any problems with the open element of the BullyDog. I even sprayed it lightly with a garden hose and then removed it just to make sure it didn't leak - No problems!

By the way, I saw what happens when a power joke inhales water - 3 cracked pistons and 3 bent connecting rods!
