Thanks, TDR Staff

why is it!!!!

Diesel Jeep XJ Cherokee tech?

that thing is fugly, I swear they are trying to kill the brand... first they f-d up the Durango, then the Dakota, completely screwed the new Charger, and now they did this to the Ram... . have they not figured out that the look of the durango/dakota has not been taken very well??? :(

They finely got a real cab but now we have a 6' bed. Well at least a box will stretch cheeper. When can we get a WHOLE package done right?

the best looking trucks were 01-02 sport with flip up mirrors 4x4 I DO NOT like the 03 style. when I buy a new truck it will be a 2nd gen and I will totally restore & drop in a NEW drivetrain! If its not broke dont fix it! come on DC where is your head at... . obviously not on your shoulders!

2nd gen fan

Ian

You Rule Ian. 2nd gen fan for life! ;-)

Ya I would not buy a new dodge if you paid me. What a cheap worthless looking thing. It cannot be called a truck, it doesnt even deserve that name. I cannot believe that Daimler has ruined the world. I might might own an 03 HO but thats it... Nothing newer All the new 3rd gens are worthless IMO

I think they are marketing it to the "blind" segment of people. maybe they dont realize blind people cant drive? :-laf

At least it has a cummins and not an isuzu or something.

i like it! black mega cab dually 6spd g56 :( yea thats the ticket. I remember hearing people saying i hate the 3rd gen and then i saw them buying one. i got more complements in one day on my 3rd gen than i ever got in years with my 2nd gen sorry guys 2nd gen are outdated but i still like my 12v. the megacab will grow on you. i remember when the ford came out with the new style f250 in 99 i thought that was the ugliest truck around now i like the way they look. now chevy on the other hand no way that truck is still ugly.

Dodge try again no longbed,no dual rear wheels no thankyou! I will keep my 01 and just keep fixing the rusted body parts the salt up here will rust a battle ship. try again dodge. The germans really don't have a clue what we want in a truck. :{

Nope. No Longbed, no dually. you can get a 3500 SRW, though. If they at least made a dually, that would be fine.

Bad part is now, they have no good trans choice. G56, well see in the future. 48RE :( hmmm.

Geez guys the truck just came out yesterday. Give em a little time. This happened pretty quick due to the fact they didn't have to redesign the entire chassis.

As far as the new vehicles Dodge has come out with in the past couple of year. You may not like it, but sales are WAY up. Something is working, that's for sure. My bet is that it is the new designs that's doing it.

As far as the Megacab, I'm all over it. Wifey said I could have one, all I need to do it figure out how to pay for it. ;)

"2nd gen sorry guys 2nd gen are outdated"

I always hafta laugh at that statement - sorta reminds me of how the 55-57 Chevies, the '40 fords and '56 era Ford trucks were "dated"... YET, they still draw crowds to car shows by the HUDDREDS of thusands - while those more "Modern and updated" ones that came after are mostly forgotten and disregarded... ;) :D

The looks and proportions of second generation trucks might have been "updated" - but they are certainly NOT improved! ;)

2nd generation trucks were in a class of their own as compared to Ford and GM stuff - but with their latest "improvements", they have now slipped into just being one of the crowd...

1994 dodge came out with the 2nd gen style it was like no other truck around!!! the others would copy the dodge style (somewhat) but now with the new "style" with cars now and teh HUGE headlights and everything being plastic dodge has to follow and not lead like they should be. Yes the 03 are a bit different but going down the road the trucks are looking more and more alike :(

2nd gen mega cab!!!! now that would be something!! I like the custom streched trucks now those look good!

the mega cab with a long bed..... ya might as well paint 'em yellow and call it "blue bird" cus its going to be a BUS!!!

Ian

I'm glad, now maybe they will bring back the quad cab with hidden suicide doors and let the ugly 3rd gen quad (crew) cab go away. Then they can lose the minivan interior. Of course the dodge executives soccer mom won't want it, but she can get the mega-tron-asaurus.

I really like the 1st gen on the bottom of the cover of the new Genos catalog. The damn thing looks useful, practical and has some storage behid the seat.

Dodge turned the light truck world on end every time they they think out of the box. Now they just follow the other two.

flame me

edit: I like the looks of the 3rd gen, not the sedan looking cab.

now you might actaully see dodge being used as a work truck. this will be true also when the 450-550 come out. but it will not be a work truck until they come out with 8 foot bed. also for those who have kids they will not be able to kick you in the back when they are in their baby seats. I hated my 03 b/c it was not quite big enough in the back seat. but this new one maybe to big i would have to drive one to see how it turned. my 1997 i dont even consider the back a backseat it is just storage area. my 97 might as well be a club cab :) i still love it though paid for baby :)

This new one will turn just the same as the current quad long bed. Read where this new mega cab is using the current quad long bed frame. You gotta give it to them, they are doing something different. Although I'd rather see them get rid of the extended cab portion/rear of the mega cab and add more bed to that point. Might come close to a full size 8' bed, and still be a true crew cab.
