I went through 3 transmissions on my 1995, I decided I needed to help the last one out as much as possible. I didn't like the idea of thinking it was possible to completely flush the whole transmission cooler and heat exchange system.
I bypassed all the stock cooler lines and the heat exchange unit, I used hyraulic hose straight from the transmission to a Tru-Cool # LPD4739 with 40,000 GVW rating
I had to cut my bumper bracket out of the way a little and trim the upper bumper cover. I used a piece of scrap aluminum I had in the shop to mount the left side of the cooler and used a few of the brackets that came with the cooler, just a little bending and drilling and wala it fits.
I am VERY pleased with this setup. My friend bought this cooler for me from a transmission shop and the guy at the shop told him it would not fit. My friend told him I would hang it off the front of the bumper if I had to because I was tired of burning up trannies. It BARELY fits where I placed it!
