Burnout....Texas Style

Had a run in with a Ford Escort today!

Piers,

I'm sure alot of us on TDR would like to know why you are driving a PSD.

Let us in on why you got rid of the Cummins and went to a PowerStroke? So much for the shows at Dyno Days!

<font color=blue>Because it was BD's truck, not Pier's "personal" truck. BD sold it, because they could get high $$$ for it.

Bad PR move in my opinion.

I have not talked to anyone, but my speculation is this:

When I go to dyno days, its about 90 percent dodge, 7 percent ford, and 3 percent chev. This has been at the last three events. It could be that piers will now build up the PSD, allowing BD to sell some PSD parts and labor. It would appear that the Cummins market is going well for them.

Very Good Kat,

Heres my 10cents for what its worth.
Sometimes it should be about more than money.
Piers and i may argue a lot but i also worked at BD. I know how many hours Piers put into that truck over the last couple of years. I'd be willing to bet he had about 300-500 hours of his own time, yes guys personal time he didnt get paid for.

He helped develop a lot of products that are currently making a lot of money for BD. To some of us a vehicle is more than just a hunk of metal and parts. Its about pride, and a true love for the vehicle. The MASTER of the 12 valve, i woudnt worry too much guys , i am sure Piers will find his way and buy his own Dodge. After reading this maybe Mr. Roth will be generous enough to let you drive one of his 24 valves. #ad

Telling a guy to get rid of something that he has worked so hard on via email.
Boy! It takes a real man to do that! #ad

Piers i know you had the same feeling for that 12 valve that i have for my Camaro.
For me i would sell my house before i would get rid of my Camaro.

I was thinking about you when i heard Brian sold YOUR TRUCK. We both know you paid for that truck 10 times over, someday maybe Brian will wake up and realize when he has good people he cant treat them like that.

I don't really care what Piers is driving, the man's obviously paid his dues many times over, and he's an indelible part of our fraternity. It does pain me however, to see him get treated that way, if indeed that is the way it happened.
VERY bad PR move, like Kat said. BD management will reap what they sow, one day.
I'd rather not see this get blown out of proportion, he still works there, and doubtless is holding his peace.
I wish I was rich so I could mail him a check to start his own business.

At least he's not driving a DuraCrax...

Still pisses me off though... I took several rides in that truck with him, and I am glad I took those opportunities now. #ad

Anyone know where that beloved '98 went?

Hopefully to the Smithsonian, in the "Innovations of Diesel Technology" section...

Yep that was a great truck, too bad Piers had to give it up,but with him now in a Ford, I should win the next race against him.
Larry

Ouch! That would be like if one day I went to work and they told me I had to change diapers instead of doing electrical work.

I don't really care about why the truck is gone.
I want to know if Piers will tell us and the Powerstroke guys the truth about which one is better without sugarcoating it!!!!!
