Yes, it's true. I left BD & started my own shop. Been hectic as he!! trying to get it up & running. But with the help of my wife, Louise it's coming along.

I'll be working on a 1 ton Chevy 4 door 4X4 that has a 5. 9 Cummins in it, modified Ford intercooler, NV4500 with a 205 transfer case & 35" tires. great fun #ad

Aw man, I was just in Langley about 2 weeks ago picking up my 93. Would have loved to stop by and see the new shop...

Thanks for the reply last week on the adjustment to the VE pump govenor!



A purely hypothetical situation: A First Gen Guy walks into your new shop w/ a fairly good running '92 W250 and states that, "He wants to play w/ the Big Dogs". He then goes on to say that his life won't be complete until he has a hot pumpin' Bosch P7100 intalled on the First Gen.



You think for a moment or two and give him an estimate...



What would an approximate cost be considering that the frt. cover, gears and cam must come off/out?

Hey Piers,sounds like your having fun,the truck you mentioned working on sounds like mine. I was up there in January at BD helping you test those lucas injectors. What year is the crew cab your working on?

My reply to the fellow walking into my shop would go like this. The best way to do that swap is to change engines. By the time you buy a P pump, gear, front cover, etc you could in most cases buy a complete used engine with a P pump on it & then you would still have your old engine to sell to help recoup some of the costs. In Canadian money a 94 & up engine generally sells for about $5500. 00 outright while a VE pump engine usually goes for about $3500. 00 Unless you can get a really good deal on a used P pump it's just not worth the difference.

6BT the truck I was working on is a 1988 GMC, like yours it used to have a 6. 2 in it. Ray, the customer, can't believe the hp & torque difference:D
