What do you guys think, If I took some pliers and pinched the hardline would that work to get more boost.

I know of the turnbuckle and spring methods but do not understand how they work.

Seems kinda permanent....

I used a turnbuckle with a spring on mine. Wasn't too difficult and easily removable for warranty work. I gotta be reminded though that there is more than one way to skin a cat... ...

Are you working on the '99 from your sig? I'm pretty sure that the 99's don't have a hardline. There is a soft rubber hose running from the side of the turbo housing to the wastegate.

If it is not the '99 then I'd not do anything that couldn't be undone (Smashing the hardline flat fits in to this category) in case the truck has to be brought in to the dealer for something unrelated to engine mods. No sense playing warranty roulette when it can be so easily avoided.

Good luck,

Mike

Are you working on someone elses truck? I don't remember specfically which turbo you had, but 2000 and below should have an HX35. Kevins 2000 has a HX35. The HY35 started with the 2001's. Unless you put a HY35 on your truck intentionally?

Email or go see StakeMan, he'll show you the infamous spring method hes come up with, its removed with one snip of wire cutters. I know its a lil bit of a drive from Ft Collins to Denver, but its only 45 mins tops?

Couldnt you "tap" that hardline a bit to not block it but slow it down? Or block it I guess if you wanted to?

Forget what they call it......

Doesn't banks sell an allen screw with a small hole in it to go in the hardline. You have to tap the hardline for the threads or something. I called them when I was trying to do mine. I think it was over $100 so I said no way!!

Just my 2¢ worth again:)
