I have an 04. 5 with a towing cam, 50hp injectors and twins that "pings" during driving. It sounds like a gasser with low octane fuel. It has a TST which has only been run on 2/2 and still pings on 0/0. Mechanic says the computer is advancing the timing. Has anyone experienced this? Are there any suggestions on a fix?

I had a bad ping. Came to find out that the TST harness was bad. You have to realize, even with the TST on 0/0, the TST is still in line with the computer on the truck. If you have the time, maybe try pulling the TST off the truck and see if that fix's your problem.

Thanks guys. Regarding the TST, were you able to tell just connecting the bypass? and did you replace the harness?

Yes, I had to replace the harness. Pain in the rear, TST took their sweet time with it, but oh well, I got it back at no charge and now it works good.
