Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I'm working on a freinds 95 auto. The complaints are low power, and makes a pinging noise when hot.
The overflow valve was bad and throttle linkage was messed up. I replaced the overflow valve and repaired the throttle linkage. It now has power but still pings when hot.
From the short amount I've driven the truck I think the PO installed a shift kit. Also the anti-tampering string on the injection pump isn't there. I don't know the P7100 to know what all can be played with or how to check for tampering.
What could cause it to ping?
