Does any one know what the pinion torque is on the front axle of a 04. 5? The front seal went out at 47k miles and the u-joint.

Or how about a spicer part number for the front u-joint?

04. 5 3500 cc dully 4x4 6speed 373 47k

93 2500 sc 2wt auto 354 250k

The service manual says to measure the rorational torque of the assembly in in/lbs before disassembling. At reassembly, tighten the pinion nut a little at a time, and do not exeed more than 3-5 in/lbs of recorded figure ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . at one point, it say to not exeed 200ft/lbs on the nut.

yep its rotational torque, i always turned by hand before I removed the yoke and then just tightened the nut until it was close to what it was before.
