We use pintles for towing our skid-steer loaders and misc trailers. This hitch does "eliminate" the chance of the trailer pulling upward off of the ball when there is a huge load applied to the rear of the trailer when loading the equipment on the trailer. In most cases, the tongue on trailers that use pintle hooks are much heavier built than the comperable trailer with a stamped tongue for a 2 5/16" ball.
