Hey anybody heard know anything good or bad about this unit? It sounds really good and has Nav, XM, DVD, MP3, and CD integrated into one unit.

My 3500 SRW SWB Auto is supposed to be here in 3 weeks and I'm considering this unit and others as an alternative to the factory RB1, Sirius, CD Changer combo. I want to end up with Nav, XM or Sirius, and a CD Changer. DVD Video is a plus not a requirement (although the younguns would say differently). Don't know what the dimensions of the factory head unit is or how it will look installed.

FWIW - According to my local Good Guys it's supposed to be out "sometime this month" and they're going to be selling it for $1995.

Thx, Kevin

Just installed one in my 04 3500 drw 4x4, so far it great, does everything ,nav unit is cool plus xm radio can't be beat. A good unit for long hauls, nav with xm radio. You will love this unit!!

Iam also looking at this unit. Sells on ebay for about $1500. 00

Was quoted $ 1750. 00 installed by local shop

I have the AVIC N1 installed in my truck. I use it daily for navigating from house to house throughout the work day. I've tried three system and this is by far THE BEST. In my opinion, it is the best value on the market for just under $2K. Navigation, MP3's, DVD's, XM Sattelite, etc... etc... . Two thumbs up from me!

There's an option for a wireless steering wheel mounted remote for this unit. I have the earlier model ( NAV 910 ) system that you might get a good deal on. It comes with a few more options than the N1, but the navigation unit is seperate from the head unit.

Wow, that unit looks pretty slick. I like the inclinometer and g-force indicators. Also, it has input for an external camera. I'm thinking it would be pretty cool to mount a small camera on the back of my 8. 5x20 enclosed car hauler and wire it into the avis-n1, since it's near impossible seeing around that thing while backing up. I wonder if the audio electronics in this unit compare to those in the Pioneer Elite line, or if they skimped on the audio to make the unit more affordable for those that just want the fluff features...

OK, I guess I found the answer to that... 2V pre-outs... :{

I knew it was too good to be true...

Maybe they'll come out with an Premier version. I don't like the Alpine either... too small of a screen and no DVD video playback... perhaps their next generation NAV will be cool. So far I like the Eclipse setup the best, but the price is up there, and it lacks some of the cool features the Pioneer has, although the audio quality is #1. I wish I could take my favorite parts of each one and market it. :cool:

I have mine hooked to a 400 watt 4 channel amp, and it sounds pretty damm good. A lot better than the Kenwood Excelon I had before on the same amp.
