I installed a Pioneer deck in my '99 and recently saw a thread about a converter for the decks that allow the use of steering wheel controls. Does anyone know if someone makes this converter for the Pioneer decks? If so, where can I get one?

I also have a pioneer, but no steering wheel controls. The last time I checked only Sony offered the option of a factory control converter. I had ordered if from crutchfield for my 92 Bonneville SSEI, but found out after I got it that it only worked on 96 and up models. I don't know if they make it for a ram/chrysler or not. I don't even know if pioneer offers that option. What do I know??:p Well, I think you're best bet would be to call crutchfield or e mail them. They'll know. www.crutchfield.com 1-888-955-6000.

When i bought my Pioneer head unit for my 01', the guy mentioned a convertor for the steering wheel controls, i will stop by the shop and see if its available and who makes it.

A few days ago I was reading a thread somewhere here on the TDR about a device that allows for the steering wheel controls to operate on aftermarket head units. The product is from Crutchfield and believe it was made by an outfit called Soundgate. I believe the posts said the device is not a listed product in the catalog but if you call and ask a tech they should be able to pull it up in the computer system. This product may not be common knowledge amoung the cruthfield staff, so you might have to talk to more than one person find it. Hope this helps
