Remounting injection pump - motor will not run

I am looking to convert my lift pump from a diaphram style to a piston design (seen on 2nd gen 12V's). Has anyone else done this conversion to their 1st gen? I currently have a high pressure piston lift pump and looking to convert it to a low pressure pump (needed for the VE equipped 12V's). Cummins does not sell the internal parts seperately. I have heard of people using the high pressure pumps with a fuel regulator. Does anyone have pictures or information on this? Thanks

Nah, I read the thread over @ 1stgen.org I was looking for part#'s regarding the actual low-pressure spring or maybe a low-pressure piston lift pump rebuild kit. Neither part #'s have turned up. I called Cummins NW and no such items are available. The way I see it now, a person has 2 choices:

-Use a high-pressure 2nd gen pump and regulate it

-Buy the correct low-pressure lift pump for around $200.

I have a high pressure lift pump and was hoping for an easier way, rather than having to buy a regulator and set a fuel pressure.
