who has any info on after market pistons and connecting rods or assemblies that can handle about 2000* temps that is for racing and regular driving? :D

Theres nothing wrong with the OEM rods. They are very tough.

The previous rods that were in the original ISB could be a little tougher since they were a little heavier, but the integrity difference is probably marginal.

IF you are looking for an aftermarket piston then it will have to be custom cast then machined because of the internal oil chamber that is in your piston.

Ross pistons seems to have a supply of aftermarket pistons. So does Arias... ... .

Your just not looking hard enough.....

Rods? - Just use litened and balanced stockers, plenty fine.

well i have access to a builder for these parts. i just thought that maybe the after market had some allready out, i need some rods capable of handling extreme pressure and heat as my compression is over 25. 1 and 2000*+ it will cost more than 15k to get these parts made. thanks

Why such high compression? And the only failure I've seen with the stock connecting rods, was directly related to another part failing.

. . Preston. .

Don't know about the heat ratings, but I'm pretty sure Arias stocks a drop in aftermarket piston. Call up Enterprise Engine Performance. They use them on their pulling rig and sell them via their web site.

If people are hurting the stock rods, I am surprised. We have run the forged, and fracture split, 5500 rpm, no issues.

Diesel Power,

You and I are going to have to sit down and have us a talk about boost. :D

Arias will custom cut you a set. Sounds like your going to need a set of flattops!

What are your power goals with this engine you are constructing?

this truck is a customers truck, it will be targeted at 1600hp and 3000+tq

so i have quite a bit to get started on the block is ready and the dragster body is done, transmission is done, motor is in the works along with everything else associated. thanks

comp461 has a set of custom rods in his built cummins. i think?... . i knew it was only a matter of time before the ultra rich opened their pocket books to build a cummins... now things are going to really get interesting.

How Much Boost Do You Plan On Running? 25 To 1 Compression Sounds Way To High If Your Running High Rpms. . Usually If You Want To Run High Rpms, And High Boost Numbers, You Would Have To Decompress Your Pistons To Accept That Amount Of Boost Pressure. .

Oo. the motor mods will complement 5-6000 rpm redline and the whole valve train is titainium---i had to get those made as well, i could not find them on the market, peak power is going to be around 5-5500rpm? dont know untill i get the motor back together, yes the pockets are very deep allready---so far about 22k in the vehicle, havent totaled the motor up yet, it will go around 30k or so? this is a third gen as well, and the electronics are all new as well, we have room for 4 turbos but have not assembled them on the motor yet, it will be a fast truck for sure. :-laf

you are very right, but all that has been takein into account, but really i wont have a final CR untill i have the head back to see what machining was done, maybe 25 to 1 was a bit high to post but it will be in that area, thats what busted the first set of stock rods, as far as boost goes---with twins we were at 115-120psi then the rods went, the head is more complicated than i care to explain, but it did not fail, just the rods, dont know what hp was made because it never made it to the dyno, only the track made just after the 60 ft mark, pulled off a 1. 22 60 ft so im thinking it will be up there in hp, if i can get it to stay together :-laf :-laf :-laf

If your going to be running over 5000rpm's then your torque is going to be alot lower than 3000 ft lbs.

So will this be the most powerful B series around?

Will this be strictly a race truck or are you going to pull it also?
