We just got back (11/24) from our trip to Orlando via Denver. On the way into Denver we had some slight
smoking problems ( literally could not see 5th wheel behind truck ). More blue grey smoke than even I could believe
. Made some calls once in Denver , Piers, several diesel shops etc. Consensus was take it to R. M. Cummins for diagnosing. Timing was to factory spec. Thought I'd mention that as that was speculated to be the problem. Cummins went through their diagnostic proceedure with the following results, injectors were lealing prior to pop pressure. Replaced injectors, smoke better, but still excessive. No other problem discovered, suggested pulling the pump for bench testing. Pump pulled and sent to Denver Diesel Injection Service for insp. They found 1, leaking seal, 2, Pivot out of adj. Rebuilt pump, advanced timing to 15 deg. Re-assembled truck, smoke, no mas, power down a smidge. Left Denver after 5 day typical broken vehicle tour of Denver and surrounding area, btw aquarium is great, $2100. 00
with a happy truck. After all of this rambling my main ? is what is this alledged pivot adjustment( may be had something to do with TST #5 installation)? This babied truck had to go through all of this with only 92k mi. on the clock. Returned 8000+ mi later still no smoke. Any insight on this pivot adjustment by the gallery appreciated.
