Place to park near San Diego Airport.

My wife and I are headed for a cruise from San Diego from Nov 6 thru 22. We will fly out and return on the cruise ship. Does anyone in that area know of a reasonably priced place to park our car while we are gone?

Lindbergh Field , the airport in downtown SD, offers both short and long term parking. There are also a number of commercial parking lots within walking distance of the airport. Cruise ships depart from the pier downtown not far from the airport. Might be too far to walk with luggage but you could drop your wife and luggage off near the ship, go park your car, and walk back or both of you could simply take a cab to the pier.

Another option is to see how much you can rent a car for, drive it down here to San Diego then turn it in then rent another for the way home. Compare that cost to the cost of parking for the duration of your trip. My wife and I did that when we went to Maui, we rented a car drove from San Diego up to LAX and turned it in there and got another on the return. It was cheaper than flying from SD to LA and it was also cheaper than parking our own car at the airport.

We're going to need the car when we return since we're staying over a week in SoCal after the cruise (wedding of grandson). Your tip is a good one though since we might leave the car with them and rent one from San Juan Cap area to and from the port.
