Howdy fellas, here is some mods I want to add to my truck and

some questions I have about them. (not neccesarily in order

285/75-16 tires maybe Buckshot mudder

Borgeson steering shaft

steering stabilizer

Mag-hytec Diff covers

Fast coolers

Injectors?? what hp??

K&N maybe this or next week

Boost &pyro guages

auxiliary electric pusher fan ? good/bad idea?? my truck was made in Nov of 90 does it have an intercooler?? (i don't think so)

Rancho rs9000 shocks

Add-aleaf f/r or is 2. 5 skyjacker a better idea?

Maybe 4. 10 gears



That's all i can think of at the moment but there has to be more

Steve, you do all those things and you will be hooked! That truck will really surprise you. Only thing else at this point I would do is to have the pump timing moved up a little. There will be other things you will want to do but those will come in due time.

Intercooler question - Does the hose from the turbo go up and over the top of the engine or does it go out the front of the turbo and go down to in front of the radiator? I don't think the 90's had an intercooler from the factory. if over the top, no cooler. If to the front of the radiator, has cooler

You should break those planned mods down into groups... eg: performance, looks, etc.



From there you can get good ideas/info on options.

Either way an intercooler is a good idea. If you're going to "up-rate" the power then you'll need to cool the air going in to help with EGT's, boost, performance, lifespan etc.



As far as injectors there are a couple choices out there...

PDR 185's, PW's, Bosch 180 HP, Lucas (aka POD's)

Once you get up to the POD's you'll have more smoke all around.

The other can be made to run quite cleanly depending on pump settings.

Paccool had a good tip too, set pump timing up a bit to help with temps, mid/upper end response.

Guy's my truck is a 91 but it was made in Nov of 90. (as for the intercooler question) these mods are the major ones there will probably be numerous smaller ones. Thanks.

Steven,

Before you add new injectors consider installing the pyro & boost gauges. One other goody to add to wake up the truck is to go to a smaller turbo housing (12cm, 14cm or 16 cm, depending on your usage). Also get the rpm increased to approx. 2900.
