Has anyone found a repair for the plastic clutch line that runs from the master to the slave. I broke mine about 2 years ago right at the master. Heated it up and slipped it back on the barb fitting coming out of the master. It broke again the other night , unfortunatly theres not enough to try the heat trick again. Is the barb fitting threaded coming out of the master ? Also is there a barb fitting on the slave and is it threaded ? Any help would appricated. Thanks

IIRC, there is an o-ring on the barbed part to seal it and a small roll pin that is driven in thru the master and slave cylinders and holds the barbed fitting.

Yep, knock the roll pin out of the slave cylinder and the Master cylinder, and the line should come out. I'm not sure if the line is available, though. Orielly's only sells the whole assembly..... Napa or Parts+ maybe. I've swapped the lines..... like on a '92 Ford I had when I did a CTD transplant... I kept the Ford Master with the Dodge slave to work with the NV4500. Also, if you're breaking the line, South Bend offers a SS braided line. I've only installed as an assembly, but they might sell just the line. Kinda expensive, but I bet it won't break.

I've also machined a part to replace the factory barb end and go in the Master and slave cylinder, with 1/4" pipe threads on the ends so then you can use a heavy hydraulic line in place of the cheap factory plastic, and make it whatever length you needed..... I don't know how handy you are with a lathe, or if you know someone at a machine shop... ...

Guys,

Thanks for all the info. Got some 3/16" stanless steel braided line from Mcmaster Carr ( about $4 a foot ) . It is teflon coated on the inside. Slipped it on the barb fitting on both ends, clamped it, Bled the system and it works like new. The line is rated a 3000 p. s. i. so I hope I never have trouble with it again. Its a easy $25 dollar fix and beats the price for a complete assembly, unless you need that

Glad you got 'er fixed. What kind of clamps did you use? As a word of caution, if you only used the screw type radiator clamps, you may have some trouble in the future. They're not desiged to hold that type of pressure..... but you may not have used those.
