Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Plastic Cooling Line Retainer Woes

If you have a truck like mine with plastic snap-in retainers on the automatic trans cooling lines, replace them now! The heat of pulling a long hill in Death Valley, along with the 10 year age of these retainers caused one to pop loose and blow hot Plus4 fluid everywhere as we coasted to a stop many miles from cell networks. The tow operator told me this happens so often that he stocks the MoPart in his independent shop! I remember thinking as I assembled the lines 6 months ago that they looked like a cheap POS, but "Dodge must know what they are doing. . " Well, not always. Run to the dealer and get the upgraded flare fitting type, at least for the HOT line (Front). An EZ job if you are doing it on your terms!
