Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Plastic Cover?

I noticed a plastic cover on my engine the other day, directly behind the fuel pump and attached to the block. The top front corner seems to distorted away from the block and there seems to be a foam gasket on the inside edge. Does anyone know what this cover is and should i fix/replace it due to the warp in it? It would not be a fun thing to change as i believe the fuel pump would have to taken off to get at it clearly.

Sounds like the tappet insulation cover. Not important. Used only on automotive apps not industrial motors. Its a sound deadener. You can leave as is or tear some of it off.

thanks bg, think i'll leave it since it isn't hurting anything. just had me a little concerned about stuff getting in where it shouldn't.
