Plastic crap in door latch

Anyone had any luck in finding a good way to get the plastic crap out of the door latch once it starts coming apart and jamming the door? My door will not close and that stuff is all balled up in there.

Wow, we've never had a problem with this... . we have seen bits of pieces of the seat belt jammed in the door latch from careless drivers not pushing the web out of the way when they slam the door...
