I have had all sorts of fun this winter. I can't go a day without something going wrong. A wire connected to the main body ground near the battery shorted. In doing so it got red hot and melted through my hyd clutch line. I am not sure what the wire had grounded as the previous owner had a lot of nasty wiring done. I have a parts truck so a new line is easy to come by. Can I change the line or am I better off swapping the whole unit, master and slave. I hope my luck changes. Some advice to others make sure that no wires come in contact with the plastic line.

I believe the slave line is 5/16 dia and can be repaired with a brass compression fitting.

I repaired mine years ago on my 1st gen.

If needed steel brake line can be installed to replace the damaged section of line using 2 unions.

Cost for parts under $10.

So you cut the line and use a brass compression fittings like those used on air lines on heavy trucks.

Thanks for the reply. This sounds a lot easier than what I had planned.
