I was under the truck this morning poking around looking for anything out of the ordinary and I notice some side to side play in the shaft from the column to the steering box. Is there supposed to be some play? If so, how much?

Thanks in advance

I would not consider my self a expert by any means But I bought and changed the stock Shaft to borgeson. and wow what a difference in the way the truck handles. On my 98 in my opinion comparing the borgeson to the stock unit the stock is like a tinker toy I have no play in my shaft now. . Hope this will help you in some way. The swap was easy took maybe 30 mins. . :)

Steering play

Pat, are you talking about the shaft from the u joint to the flange at the steering box, the play I have is in the steering box itself and the shaft that comes from it, Sorry for any confusion.
