I have the tool. I need the nipple, or what I would call the cup.

I have installed a regular nipple type fitting, (like on a ball joint or tie rod)but to get the angle needed to get grease into the fitting I have to remove the driveshaft from the truck and put in a vise, grease it, and reinstall it.

Not sure on the part number, but I get mine from Inland Truck..... I don't get them very often, though..... And often, they install them when they balance or make me a driveshaft.....

Bshwarzli, what's the overall driveshaft length going to end up to be, and what's the drop from the center of yoke to yoke? You should have enough shaft..... And do you have the rear slip yoke on the GV? That's where you're going to get a lot of your vibration from, those use the GM400 wear sleeve, and they don't take well to odd angles... . There's a reason why we bolt them directly on in a Kenworth... ...

I have never had much luck with the needels , how ever i have bought one that can be made super cheap , it was made out of a large hypodermic needle of which you can get one at any place that sells vet supplies or farm store its just a very large needle then they crimped onto a zerk fitting , i bought the one done at a stoe called BI-Mart

Thanks, Fellows,
But I solved my fitting problem. I've been in Phoenix for a week for some minor surgery.
Today the Doc said I was god to go, so i did some shopping and found a driveshaft shop that had some. He gave me a couple.

Not fully sure. But it will be short. :D I will take a measurement and see.

Yes, that is part of the issue as the slide yoke could be moving too.

Good to hear you are doing well. Also good to hear you solved your problem!

The rear driveshaft on my cummins/ramcharger is only about ~32-33" long, and it will be at a decent angle. I do have the angles matched to ~+/-1* though as it sits. Its actually the reason I used the 14 bolt GM axle over the Dana 80 that was in my first gen donor... the 14 bolt has a shorter pinion for a longer driveshaft.

How long is your driveshaft gonna be with the 5600?

Yeah, you need to look at a bolt on rear yoke for the GV. They make one, with a new tailhousing and output shaft. Then look at a CV type, or double cardan/H unit for your rear shaft, somewhat like the front shaft. 12" is going to be wayyy too short for the amount of drop you have.

You could possibly chunk the GV altogether, before it dumps you... . :D

Call and talk to Jesse at High Angle driveline. I always have him do my driveshaft work. Even if he doesnt have what you need, he is very knowledgeable.

12" is way short!! I dont feel bad about mine "only" being ~32" now!! haha

Sorry. 12" was a lie. Its not that short. But its not going to be 4' either! (Humor lost online..... fail... ... )

I don't know exact specs yet as I don't have the 5600 here yet to measure. I will let you know when I know though.

pwe

Thanks! I will keep his number on hand.

I dont think the humor was lost... I got it. I tried to add to the humor. :) Felt funny saying " 12" is way short! " ... . :-laf

You might wind up having to point the axle at the tcase and run a double cardan at the t case, and just over fill the axle. Thats another reason I'm running the 14bolt, they are more tolerable of high pinion angles (which Im sure I will need).
