Not sure if this is the right forum, but can someone please give me the lowdown on Ford ownership of Cummins?

Previous posts have indicated that Ford does not own any part of Cummins. Apparently, in the past, Ford purchased a block of Cummins stock. Cummins turned around later and bought it back.

For a period of time Ford owned about 10% of Cummins stock. In January '97 Cummins bought back their stock. This is just a myth the Ford owners seem to take delight in for some reason.

Ford did own some Cummins stock years ago but that has since been sold. This is one rumor that just doesn't die. Don't understand why. Anyway, the Cummins FAQ will explain it. They don't own any part of Cummins.

I never bought into that story. I've always chalked it up as Ford guys trying to belittle us by saying their truck owns ours. . Grow up.
