I recently set off some codes and had my check engine light lit on my truck. I came on here and clicked on the link that some have posted that is supposed to tell what the code means. However, I must either be doing it wrong, or the computer doesn't like me. I can never get any info on the codes I type. Am I typing them in wrong? I have tried entering them as PCM****, P**** and I have also just tried typing in the numbers themselves. I also clicked that it was for a chrysler/dodge application. The codes are 1693,1689 & 0230.

I also tried disconnecting the batteries to clear the codes with no luck. Then I unplugged the 3 plugs behind the air box with no luck. I was able to clear a 0500 code, but the rest are still there. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW- the check engine light is currently off.

here is the link I tried to check the codes. http://www.obdii.com/codes.asp

Use this site:

That was a good site you have. I tried and got not response. Something is wrong at that site.

Anyway:

P0230 Lift Pump out of range

P1689 No communication between injector pump and ECM

P1693 Error detected in ECM companion module.

Whatever you did, the engine is still running. You can go to Autozone and ask them to check and clear the codes and they will usually do it for you for free.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it had to do with the lift pump. I had disconnected the feed wire to the lift pump so I could check polarity on the wires. It must have set a code when I bumped the switch. The lift is a little weak and I was putting a pusher on while at work today. Nothing like being 60 miles from home and having codes pop up that you can't figure out. Oh well, autozone is 3/4's mile from here.
