I just bought a #5 fuel plate from TST Diesel. I Put it is yesterday and after i got done i took the truck for a ride. I noticed alot of black smoke when you put your foot into it. When i am running at about 50mph and 1500rpms and mash the gas it hesitates and then kicks in, when i say kicks in i mean the rpm needle climbs really fast but it dosnt seem like the speed climbs all that fast. It does this in both fourth and fith gear and yes it is a five speed. I just recently had the injesctor pump turned up to. Any help would be great i am heading south tonight and dont really want any trouble. The truck is a 95 also. Its hard to explain this on the internet so sorry if there is any confusion.

I agree, sounds like classic clutch slippage. Is this the stock clutch? It will not hold much beyond stock power especially with 185K miles or more on it.

If you are leaving tonight just stay out of the go pedal and if hauling a trailer, or whatever, do lot's of down shifing for the up grades - keep her in the sweet spot. You should be OK. Have fun and drive safely.

hey thanks for the help. I made it down and back without any problems. It does slip above 2000rpms but not as frequent. I just bought a new clutch from drivetrain.com. it is rated for 400hp and 900ft-lbs so i will be alright there. Cant wait to see what she does.
