Can't believe the moderators let that thread go on so long. That discussion should be between those concerned and NOT on an open forum, IMHO.

But it was interesting, who do you believe?

I'm sure glad I got a 5 speed trans #ad

I'd rather use my HP to turn gears instead of pumping oil anyday! (even with the 5th gear nut problem)

Runaway, there are many times that we are working on things behind the scenes that you don't get to see. The preferable option is for us to talk with the individuals involved privately and try to resolve it there and allow them to make the appropriate corrections in public if they wish, that way we do not get accused of censorship, etc. If that doesn't happen then it goes to the next level. Be assured that we are on top of things and even if you don't see anything happening in public that we are working on it.

Runaway,
I think this is what the forums are all about.
Someone had a problem, someone had an answer, someone who was perhaps the cause of the problem, had a chance to defend themselves, and so on.
This why the Internet is great. We get to see first hand what is happening out there, instead of just hearsay.

Remember Roberts rules, "The World is watching". If you are going to say something, be prepared to be called on it.

The day of the uneducated, ripped off consumer is coming to an end.

I believe the thread has been deleted. The thread originated in the Products Forum. Actually it was sad for me to read as I have respect for both vendors and have dealt with both of them in the past.

Even though that thread was a little rough it should have stayed open. The language was not vulgar and the points being made on both sides was allowing us THE consumer to get a better grasp on how companies look at US the consumer. Sometimes these issues should be aired in the open and not behind closed doors. Some of us who had been pondering how to upgrade our transmission's were getting quite the education, plus it more than likely would have ultimately produced a better relationship between vender and customer. Knowing up front where the retailer stands would allow us to better choose where to spend our money, that I believe is in part what this forum is suppose to be all about.
This forum isn't always going to politically correct and dainty,as long as the post were dealing with policy and product reliabilty then we could have read on for a while!! Oh well, #ad
next topic. Pete

Moderators, Once again I believe you have NOT acted in the best interest of the TDR membership. Having joined the TDR so I could have access to the wealth of information that is on this website, you have performed a great disservice. There was some very valuble technical information being discussed in a civilized manner; it's obvious there are potential problems with the upgrades offered by the vendors for automatic transmissions. In the future let the members decide for themselves! Seriously what was gained by this foistering act of censorship?

Remember, everyone as an opinion and does not have to back it with the facts. Sometimes it is hard to sort through the real issues. Reader beware! #ad

This has already been hashed over in the products forum so we are going to lock it.
