I could do this at a truck stop but why blow $7. 00. I have a stock 2000 - 3500 - 4x6 - quadcab - auto, with everything but leather (don't know if leather weighs more than the cloth? :) ) Can another owner that has the same truck and has weighed it, reply and let me know what my truck weighs? Thanks I am just curious and cheap :)

Check this table from the Dodge towing charts

#ad

6407 pounds according to the above chart.

I'd pay the $7 and get the actual weight. If you go to a CAT scale, you will get a report showing the front and rear axle weight, as well as the total weight. I have done this with and without the 5er so I know what my weights really are.

I went to a moving comapny......

They have large scales for their moving trucks. If I didn't want a print out they did it for free.

Got mine weighed at the local land fill ( garbage dumps ) Free!!

You just pull onto the scales and read weight. They charge for a cerified weight that has a printed paper.

Go to closed truck scales

Anytime I want to weigh in, I stop at a truck scales on the highway that is closed. Every one I've stopped at here in Washington you can get out and look at the reading through the window. The scale is always ON when the place is closed and no one is around.

I weighed mine and my trailer at the local truck stop. Just parked on it and went in and looked at the weight. No charge unless you want a certified weight.

D Latimer, I'll tell you how to get paid to have your truck weighed.

Load a bunch of scrap metal in your truck and take it to the scrap yard. They weigh you going in and coming out and you get to pick up a few dollars at the end. The yard near me gives you a receipt showing your in and out weight. They also have the weight displayed on a LED sign on the wall of the building, when you stop on the scale.

Drive carefully while in the yard :)

Weighing in

Gosh, when you have it so good you don't even think about what a pain it can be for other folks. I just drive across the scales (ditigal readout) on my way into or out of the mill where I work. :D 6200 lbs

Mine is not like yours, but I weigh right 9000# full of fuel(145 gals) and me in it(no i dont weigh 500lbs):D Just tool boxes, tools, lotsa guns and ammo, and fuel!

I don't trust the dump scales since they are just looking for a difference in weight they do not zero the scales every time. I have seen a 2000 lb difference in weight. Today I was 7580 lbs on the way out with two people. Once I was 5500ish. This is on a 2500. If you need a real weight go to a truck stop or CAT scale.
